ORCHESTRATE EXCELLENCE TO HOST A COMMUNITY FORUM:
OUR COMMUNITY’S COMMITMENT TO THE MINNESOTA ORCHESTRA
Keynote Speaker, Alan Fletcher, President and CEO, Aspen Music Festival and School
MINNEAPOLIS – JULY 16, 2013 – Orchestrate Excellence will host a forum focusing on the future, exploring our community’s role supporting the Minnesota Orchestra.
“Orchestras are an extraordinary and essential element in a great city’s daily life, and when business as usual–the way musicians, management, and boards have traditionally interacted–breaks down, extraordinary measures are needed to save them,” according to the forum’s keynote speaker, Alan Fletcher.
As a community, we share responsibility for the future vitality of the Minnesota Orchestra, along with orchestra board members and management, donors, music lovers and musicians. “We are hosting this gathering to demonstrate our strong commitment to our orchestra, and to initiate a broader dialogue concerning the ways we, the community, can invest our time, talent and resources to help our orchestra thrive in the future,” said Orchestrate Excellence co-chair Laurie Greeno. “We are honored to have Alan Fletcher, one of this country’s most accomplished music administrators and respected composers, joining us as the keynote speaker for the event. We welcome anyone interested in supporting this vital community asset to join us and participate in this dialogue.”
